The most neglected part of a site and at the same time a part that can give so much to the sites appearance is footer. Many designs have left the footer out of the “picture”, but the here are some that have put the picture back in to the footer!
This wide footer tells a story and captures your attention long enough to read the data that it contains. It is very useful and looks pretty good.
You don’t have to have a lot of text in order to make an interesting and tasty footer. This is a perfect example of a good color and shape combinations, you can see that, depending on contents of the site, you can still make an interesting footer without too much details.
Adding details that look like they are interacting with the footer can make it more interesting and memorable. People will visit the site, if nothing then just to see an interesting an eye-catching design, again and again.
The essential thing that should not be forgotten is that the footer must be in a harmony with the whole design concept. It can stand out and be different in color, but it should never be imbalanced and inappropriate. This one follows a beautiful “sky” header and makes a great mach to it, a logical ending of the site.
This footer looks like it is growing out of the edge of your browser, it is not high and it is 100% wide, so the “growing effect” is grater and more impressive. The minimum data that it contains is managed well and fits in without messing with the design.
Like the first footer, this one is also full of detail, but unlike that one it has his story separate from the footer text. The whole action happens just above the footer and it modestly invites you to read the footer info.
So the conclusion is: Please give your footer a proper treatment so that it can help your site have a better and richer life!
