Our first stop is Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

The Netherlands have always been associated with tulips, wooden shoes and of course the coffeeshops. But the Netherlands and in particular Amsterdam has been a front runner and leader in innovative design. From the early days of Lost Boys, arguably the top Agency in the late 90's to a variety of smaller firms today, Dutch designers have always worked with clean lines and simplicity. In 2000 Puk Fenneman started as a freelance designer. Nowadays she is specialized in creating funny characters and colorful illustrations. In 2007 Puk has won a contest redecorating a whole street in Amsterdam. Also one of Puks characters is used by the Dutch government in a project to inspire young people to do more with their lives. Coolpuks submitted design for the Dutch Olympic Mascotte this year ended in fourth place.
