What each Scenes plan lets you do.

Plain language, short on purpose. "The software" means the scene engine (engine.js), the element (embed.js) and the scenes they draw. "You" means the person or business using them.

The free plan

You may embed any scene on any website, including commercial ones, by loading the files from csscreme.com, as long as the "Scene · CSS Crème" credit stays visible and unobstructed. You may change every setting the element offers. We may change, improve or stop serving the free files; if we stop, we will give at least 30 days' notice on this page.

The site licence

For one website, meaning one registered domain and its subdomains, named when you buy. You may remove the credit, copy the files to your own server, and use the scenes in client work for that one site. You get every engine update we publish for 12 months; after that the version you have keeps working, without an end date.

The studio licence

The same rights as the site licence, for up to 10 websites you name, yours or your clients'. You may move a licence from one site to another when a project ends, by telling us the old and new domains.

Custom scenes

A custom scene is agreed in writing before any payment: what it shows, the price, the schedule and two rounds of changes. Unless that agreement says otherwise, a custom scene is licensed to you like a site licence, and the engine underneath stays ours.

What no plan allows

Refunds

Ask within 14 days of buying a site or studio licence and we refund it in full, without questions. A refund ends the paid licence.

No warranty

The software is provided as it is. We test it, and the scene measures its own frame rate and thins itself on slower devices, but we do not promise it suits every page, device or browser. Try the free embed on your own site before you buy. To the extent the law allows, our total liability is what you paid us.

Questions

Ask through the contact form. When a new version of this licence is published, a purchase stays under the version it was bought under.
