    CSS Crème /Terms of Use

    Terms of Use

    Last updated: June 25, 2026

    1. Introduction and Acceptance

Welcome to CSS Crème, a curated web design gallery and educational resource available at csscreme.com (the "Site"). These Terms of Use (the "Terms") form a binding legal agreement between you ("you" or "your") and Combo Ventures, LLC, the operator of the Site ("CSS Crème," "we," "us," or "our").

By accessing, browsing, or otherwise using the Site, the resources, the tools, or any content or feature offered through it (together, the "Service"), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.

CSS Crème has been online since 2007 and was relaunched in 2026. We curate and feature publicly accessible third-party websites for the purposes of inspiration, commentary, criticism, and education, and we publish original analysis, free resources, and browser-based tools. We are operated from the United States, in the State of Florida.

    2. Eligibility

The Service is intended for a general audience of design professionals, students, and enthusiasts. The Service is not directed to children. You may not use the Service if you are under the age of 13. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 13 years of age. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.

By using the Service, you further represent and warrant that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms and that your use of the Service does not violate any applicable law or regulation.

    3. Description of the Service

CSS Crème provides a curated, editorial gallery and educational resource. The Service currently includes, without limitation, the following features:

    • Curated gallery. We feature publicly accessible third-party websites by displaying screenshots or thumbnails together with short editorial notes and outbound links, marked with the rel="nofollow noopener" attribute, for inspiration, commentary, criticism, and education.
    • Breakdowns and Decode. We publish original educational analysis and commentary concerning the publicly visible design and front-end techniques of real websites.
    • Free resources. We offer color palettes, free CSS templates, icon packs, tutorials, and browser-based front-end tools.
    • Creator profiles. We credit the designers, studios, and companies behind featured work and provide links to them.
    • Design Awards. We operate a program of editorial picks recognizing notable work, selected at our sole discretion.
    • Site Indexer. A visitor may paste a URL, and the Service fetches a screenshot and public metadata through a third-party application programming interface (Microlink) in order to generate a preview.
    • Submission form. A visitor may suggest a website (their own or one they admire) by submitting its name, URL, an optional email address, and a description of why it deserves featuring. Submissions are processed through a third-party form provider (Formspree).

The Service has no user accounts and no logins. Any "Favorites" or "Saved" items exist only within your own browser, by means of local storage, and are never transmitted to or received by CSS Crème. The Service carries no advertising, does not sell data, and is not pay-to-play. We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Service at any time, as described in Section 15.

    4. Our Intellectual Property and Brand

Except for featured and third-party material described in Section 5, and except for user submissions described in Section 7, all content on the Site, including the original editorial text, Breakdowns and Decode analysis, tutorials, color palettes, templates, icon packs, software, tools, the selection, arrangement, and curation of the gallery, the design and layout of the Site, and the "CSS Crème" name and logo, is owned by or licensed to CSS Crème and is protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

The "CSS Crème" name, the csscreme.com brand, and our logos are trademarks of CSS Crème. You may not use them without our prior written permission, and you may not use them in any manner that is likely to cause confusion or that disparages or discredits CSS Crème.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial, and internal professional reference purposes. Free templates, icon packs, and similar resources that we expressly offer for download or reuse may be used in accordance with the specific license terms or notes we publish alongside them; in the absence of stated terms, such resources are provided for your personal and professional use but may not be redistributed, resold, or offered as a standalone competing collection. Except as expressly permitted, you may not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, license, modify, or create derivative works from the Service or its original content without our prior written consent.

    5. Featured and Third-Party Material

A core function of the Service is to feature, showcase, analyze, and comment upon publicly accessible third-party websites. This section explains our position regarding that material, and it is important that you read it carefully.

    • Nature of our use. The screenshots, thumbnails, website names, design descriptions, and outbound links that we display refer to websites that are already publicly available on the internet. Screenshots and thumbnails are limited, factual depictions of publicly visible work, displayed to identify the work and to support our editorial, showcase, commentary, criticism, reporting, and educational purposes. We believe this use is a fair use and a nominative use of the referenced material, made in good faith to identify and discuss the work being shown.
    • Ownership remains with rights holders. All third-party website names, logos, trademarks, service marks, trade names, screenshots, images, code, and other content remain the property of their respective owners. Nothing in the Service transfers any ownership to CSS Crème or to you, and nothing in the Service should be read as a claim of ownership by CSS Crème over any featured third-party material.
    • No endorsement or affiliation. The featuring, listing, crediting, or awarding of any website, designer, studio, or company does not imply, and should not be interpreted as, any endorsement, affiliation, partnership, sponsorship, approval, or relationship, unless we expressly state otherwise in writing. Outbound links are provided for reference and convenience only and are marked rel="nofollow noopener".
    • Editorial independence; unpaid and non-commercial. Featuring is unpaid, non-commercial editorial activity. We select, describe, and award work at our sole discretion. Featuring is not a paid placement, is not advertising, and being featured confers no commercial relationship and entitles the owner to no payment.
    • Owners may opt out; prompt removal on request. We respect the rights of the owners of featured material, and any owner may opt out of being featured at any time. If you are the rights holder for a featured website, or that owner's authorized representative, and you would prefer that your material not be featured, you may contact us through our contact form with a description of the material and the page on which it appears, and we will remove the featured material promptly. This courtesy removal process is in addition to the formal copyright procedure described in Section 6.

    6. Copyright and Takedown (DMCA)

CSS Crème respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of the Service to do the same. We respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (the "DMCA") and other applicable law. Notices and counter-notices should be sent in writing to our designated contact at comboventures@gmail.com.

    6.1 Notice of Alleged Infringement

If you are a copyright owner, or authorized to act on behalf of one, and you believe that material available on or through the Service infringes your copyright, you may send a written notice to our designated contact at comboventures@gmail.com. To be effective, your notice must include substantially the following:

    • A physical or electronic signature of the person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the copyright that is allegedly infringed.
    • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or, if multiple works are covered by a single notice, a representative list of those works.
    • Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material, such as the specific URL or page on the Site.
    • Information reasonably sufficient to permit us to contact you, such as your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
    • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
    • A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on behalf of the owner.

Please be aware that under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees. Upon receipt of a valid notice, we will respond in accordance with the DMCA, which may include removing or disabling access to the material claimed to be infringing.

    6.2 Counter-Notification

If you believe that material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may send a written counter-notification to comboventures@gmail.com, including substantially: your physical or electronic signature; identification of the material and its prior location; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification; and your name, mailing address, and telephone number, with a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the district of your address (or, if outside the United States, any district in which CSS Crème may be found) and that you will accept service of process from the complaining party. Section 512(f) of the DMCA also applies to counter-notifications: any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification may be liable for damages.

Upon receipt of a valid counter-notification, we may forward it to the party who submitted the original notice. If that party does not notify us that it has filed a court action seeking to restrain the allegedly infringing activity, we may, in our discretion and where required by the DMCA, restore the removed material in not less than ten and not more than fourteen business days after receipt of the counter-notification.

    6.3 Repeat Infringers

It is our policy, in appropriate circumstances and at our discretion, to limit, suspend, decline to feature, or terminate access for, and to remove material associated with, any party determined to be a repeat infringer. We also reserve the right to remove any material and to decline any submission at any time, with or without notice, for any reason.

    7. User Submissions

The Service allows you to suggest a website for possible featuring by submitting information through our submission form, including the website's name, its URL, an optional email address, and a description of why it deserves featuring (a "Submission"). This section governs all Submissions.

7.1 License for Your Own Site

If your Submission concerns a website that you own or are authorized to represent, then, by making the Submission, you grant CSS Crème a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, fully paid-up, sublicensable, and transferable license to host, store, reproduce, display, publish, adapt for formatting and presentation, and otherwise use the submitted material, including screenshots and descriptions of the website, for the purposes of operating, providing, and promoting the Service, including featuring the website in the gallery, in Breakdowns or Decode analysis, in Creator profiles, in the Design Awards program, and in related promotional materials. This license continues for so long as the material remains featured and for a reasonable period thereafter for archival and record-keeping purposes.

    7.2 Suggestions of Third-Party Sites

If your Submission concerns a website that you do not own, you are not purporting to grant the license in Section 7.1, and our treatment of any resulting featured material is governed instead by Section 5. You represent that your suggestion is lawful, that you are not submitting it for any unlawful or deceptive purpose, and that the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge. You acknowledge that any decision to feature a suggested website is made at our sole discretion.

    7.3 Your Representations and Warranties

By making any Submission, you represent and warrant that: you have the full right, power, and authority to make the Submission and to grant the rights described in this Section 7; for a Submission concerning your own website, you own or control all rights in the submitted material, or you are otherwise authorized to grant the license in Section 7.1; the Submission, and the material it describes or links to, is lawful and does not and will not infringe or misappropriate any copyright, trademark, trade secret, privacy, publicity, or other right of any third party, and does not contain anything unlawful, defamatory, obscene, harassing, malicious, or otherwise objectionable; the Submission does not contain any malicious code and does not link to any website that distributes malicious code or unlawful content; and the information in the Submission is accurate and not misleading. These representations and warranties support your indemnification obligations in Section 13.

7.4 Curation, Discretion, and No Obligation

A Submission never guarantees featuring. CSS Crème curates manually. We may, at our sole discretion and without notice, accept, decline, edit, abridge, reformat, annotate, comment upon, decline to publish, or remove any Submission or any featured material, for any reason or no reason. We have no obligation to publish, to feature, to credit, or to retain any Submission or featured material, and we have no obligation to monitor, review, or respond to Submissions.

7.5 No Confidentiality and No Compensation

You agree that your Submission is not confidential and that no confidential or fiduciary relationship is created between you and CSS Crème by your making it. You should not send us any information that you consider confidential or proprietary. You will not be entitled to any compensation, payment, credit, fee, or reimbursement of any kind for any Submission or for any use we make of it, and you waive any claim to such compensation.

    8. Acceptable Use and Prohibited Conduct

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree that you will not, and will not attempt to, and will not assist or permit any person to:

    • Use the Service in any way that violates any applicable federal, state, local, or international law or regulation.
    • Use any robot, spider, scraper, crawler, or other automated means to access, monitor, harvest, or copy any part of the Service or its content, except for standard public search engine indexing, without our prior written permission.
    • Interfere with, disrupt, damage, overburden, or impair the Service or any servers or networks, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, any computer system, or any network.
    • Introduce any viruses, worms, malware, or other material that is malicious or technologically harmful.
    • Abuse, overload, automate, or attempt to manipulate the Site Indexer, the submission form, or any other tool or form, including by submitting high volumes of requests, by submitting URLs that point to unlawful, infringing, or malicious content, or by using any tool or form to attack, probe, or test the vulnerability of any third party or system.
    • Use the Site Indexer to fetch, preview, or store any content that you do not have the right to access, or that resides behind a login, paywall, or other access restriction.
    • Misrepresent your identity or your affiliation with any person or entity, including by submitting false, fraudulent, or impersonating information through any form.
    • Use the Service, any content, or any feature for any unlawful, infringing, deceptive, or commercially exploitative purpose not expressly permitted by these Terms.
    • Remove, obscure, or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices contained on or in the Service.
    • Frame, mirror, or otherwise reproduce a substantial portion of the Service so as to misrepresent it as your own or to compete with it.

We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action, including denying or restricting access to the Service, against anyone who, in our sole judgment, violates this section.

    9. Third-Party Links and Services

The Service contains outbound links to third-party websites and relies on third-party services, including Microlink for the Site Indexer and Formspree for the submission form. These links and services are provided for your reference and convenience only.

We do not control, operate, endorse, or assume responsibility for any third-party website, service, content, product, or practice, including any third-party website that is featured, linked, indexed, or previewed through the Service, and including the services of Microlink and Formspree. Your access to and use of any third-party website or service is at your own risk and is subject to the terms and privacy policies of that third party, not these Terms. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, content, or conduct of any third party, and we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of any third-party website or service.

    10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, with all faults and without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CSS Crème, on behalf of itself and its operators, suppliers, and licensors, expressly disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement, and any warranties arising out of course of dealing or usage of trade.

Without limiting the foregoing, CSS Crème makes no warranty that the Service will meet your requirements, that it will be available on an uninterrupted, secure, timely, or error-free basis, or that the results obtained from the Service, including from any tool, tutorial, template, or the Site Indexer, will be accurate, reliable, complete, or current. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above exclusions may not apply to you.

    11. Assumption of Risk; Use of Tools and Templates at Your Own Risk

CSS Crème is a design gallery and educational resource. Any educational content, analysis, Breakdowns, Decode material, tutorials, color palettes, templates, icon packs, code, and browser-based tools, including the Site Indexer, are provided for general informational and inspirational purposes only. They do not constitute professional, legal, technical, security, or financial advice, and they are not a substitute for the advice of a qualified professional. CSS Crème is not a law firm and does not provide legal or other professional advice.

You use the Service, its tools, its templates, and all other resources at your own risk and discretion. You are solely responsible for evaluating, testing, and validating any template, code, palette, tool output, or technique before relying on it or deploying it in any project, and for ensuring that your use complies with all applicable laws, licenses, and third-party rights. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you assume all risk arising from your use of, or reliance on, any content, resource, or tool offered through the Service.

    12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will CSS Crème, or its operators, members, managers, officers, employees, agents, suppliers, or licensors, be liable to you for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including damages for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, or business opportunities, or for business interruption, arising out of or relating to these Terms or your access to or use of, or inability to access or use, the Service, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), statute, or any other legal theory, and whether or not CSS Crème has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the total aggregate liability of CSS Crème arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will not exceed one hundred United States dollars (US $100.00). The parties acknowledge that this limitation, together with the disclaimers in these Terms, reflects a reasonable allocation of risk and is an essential basis of the agreement between them, given that the Service is provided free of charge.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including, where applicable, liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you, and in such jurisdictions our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

    13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CSS Crème, and its operators, members, managers, officers, employees, agents, suppliers, and licensors, from and against any and all claims, demands, actions, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or relating to: (a) your access to or use of the Service; (b) any Submission you make, including any claim that a Submission infringes or misappropriates the rights of any third party or violates any law; (c) your violation of these Terms, including the representations and warranties in Section 7; (d) your violation of any rights of any third party; or (e) your violation of any applicable law or regulation.

We will use reasonable efforts to provide you with prompt written notice of any claim subject to indemnification, provided that any failure or delay in providing notice will relieve you of your obligations only to the extent you are actually and materially prejudiced by the failure or delay. We reserve the right, at our own expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you, in which case you agree to cooperate with our defense. You may not settle any claim in a manner that imposes any liability, obligation, payment, or admission of fault on CSS Crème, or that restricts CSS Crème in any way, without our prior written consent. Your obligations under this section survive any termination of these Terms or of your use of the Service.

    14. Termination and Suspension

Because the Service does not require accounts, you may stop using the Service at any time. We may, at our sole discretion and without notice or liability, suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to all or any part of the Service, decline or remove any Submission, and remove or disable any featured or other material, at any time and for any reason, including if we believe that you have violated these Terms. The provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including Sections 4 through 7 and Sections 9 through 17.

    15. Changes to the Service and to These Terms

We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature, resource, tool, or part of the Service, in whole or in part, at any time, with or without notice, and we will not be liable to you or to any third party for doing so. We may also revise these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. Any changes are effective when posted, unless we indicate otherwise. Your continued access to or use of the Service after revised Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of those revised Terms.

    16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or relating to them, their subject matter, or their formation, including non-contractual disputes or claims, are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without giving effect to any choice or conflict of law provision that would cause the application of the laws of any other jurisdiction.

You agree that any legal action or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Florida, United States, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of, and venue in, those courts. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you agree that any claim will be brought only in your individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative proceeding. Any cause of action or claim you may have arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service must be commenced within one (1) year after the cause of action accrues, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

    17. Miscellaneous

Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or, if it cannot be so modified, severed, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any terms expressly published alongside specific resources, constitute the entire agreement between you and CSS Crème regarding the Service.

No waiver. Our failure to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not operate as a waiver of that right or provision.

Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent, and any attempted assignment in violation of this provision is void. We may freely assign or transfer these Terms, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.

Force majeure. CSS Crème will not be liable for any delay or failure to perform resulting from causes beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, civil unrest, labor disputes, governmental action, epidemic or pandemic, power or internet failures, and failures or disruptions of third-party services, hosting providers, or networks.

Relationship of the parties. Nothing in these Terms creates any partnership, joint venture, agency, employment, or fiduciary relationship between you and CSS Crème.

    18. Contact Us

If you have any questions about these Terms or the Service, you may contact us through our contact form. For formal copyright, takedown, or counter-notification notices, please use the designated contact in Section 6.
