CSS Crème in Cursor

One command connects Cursor to 12 tools that search real design systems, pull a DESIGN.md with measured contrast, and decode any public site into tokens. Free, no account, no API key.

  1. Run one command

    npx -y add-mcp https://csscreme.com/mcp -a cursor -n csscreme
    This project only
    .cursor/mcp.json
    Every project (add -g)
    ~/.cursor/mcp.json

    For every project on this machine: npx -y add-mcp https://csscreme.com/mcp -a cursor -n csscreme -g

    Cursor does not need a type key for a remote server; the url alone is enough.

  2. Or write it by hand

    The same result without running anything, in .cursor/mcp.json:

    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "csscreme": {
          "url": "https://csscreme.com/mcp"
        }
      }
    }
  3. Confirm it connected

    Open Cursor Settings, then MCP. csscreme should show a green dot and its tools.

    Then try it. Ask Cursor: “Use csscreme to find a calm fintech dashboard theme, then pull its DESIGN.md.” It should call search_themes, then get_design_md.

  4. Make the design system stick

    Connecting the server is half of it. The other half is telling Cursor to read the DESIGN.md at the start of every session, not just this one. How Cursor reads a DESIGN.md →
